Infertility Physician Assistant


Responsibilities:
Coordinate the Assisted Reproductive Technologies Program, including patient tracking and data monitoring, patient education and assessment, and quality assurance, including all specialty programs.
Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as indicated for patient care and/or clinical research.


Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Intra-uterine inseminations, cycle monitoring ultrasounds, early pregnancy ultrasounds, placement of laminaria, wound checks, annual exams and wet preps.
Perform and ensure timely documentation via dictation, medical histories, physical exams, and telephone conversations.
Write and sign prescriptions according to protocols or as prescribed by his/her supervising physician.
Dictate progress and clinical care notes.
Perform pre-operative/pre-procedure history and physicals, and ensure pre-operative/pre-procedure work ups and plans are complete and appropriate.


Direct care and management would include:
Patient/family education, counseling and support, collaboration with and referrals to other health care providers, and provision of education to nursing staff, students, and the community.
Direct patient care would include post-operative care and management of surgical patients following discharge.
Collaborate and serve as a resource with nurses, ultrasonographer, and physicians regarding patient care.
Prescribe according to standard of care patient management and investigational clinical trial protocols. 
Review laboratory and radiographic tests results and interface with medical staff and patients regarding results and plan of care.
Participate in clinical and translational research.
Manage and participate in database activities, including database entry.
Attend and participate in conferences and continuing education/staff development programs to maintain knowledge of current literature.


Requirements:
Current License to practice in the State of Michigan
Two or more years of Women's Health practice preferred
Current ACLS/BLS verification preferred
