JOB SUMMARY: Tier III-- Hospital Midlevel Provider (T31170, D29020) With the supervision of a Physician, (as per O.R.C. 4730) performs complete histories and physicals on patients of all ages to establish and record patient's current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and tretment plan to provide continuing medical care, including daily examinations, writing orders, chart notes, discharging patients and completing discharge summaries. This medical care may be in a variety of clinical settings. PA's are privileged by the Board of Governors.
PA's in the Hospital care role provide hospital based care to patients (more than 50% of their time) with complex, acute, and chronic health conditions. Hospital care PA's practice in a setting that requires the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to manage acute and chronic health problems. Must have the ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of an A.M.A.-approved Physician Assistant Program. Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or 10 years clinical practice as a PA with licensure in Ohio (before Dec. 31, 2006), Eligible to apply for licensure to prescribe from the OSMB. Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Must have an Ohio license to practice as a PA before Dec. 31, 2006 if do not have a Master's degree in PA Studies. Demonstrated competency and the ability to perform advanced assessment, diagnosis, treatment plan development and invasive procedures as per clinical privileges. Depending on practice, surgical fields require minimum 2 years surgical experience. Current certification as a Physician Assistant. Incumbent must obtain State of Ohio licensure before employment, license to prescribe or be eligible. Must have approved Physician Supervision Agreement (listed on OSMB website) and signed addendum to Physician Supervision Agreement. Must be privileged by CCF's Credentialing Board. Typical physical demands include ability to lift and position patients ranging in weight from 50 to 350 pounds. Ability to push/pull patients to various positions, to move/push medical equipment and supplies. Requires extensive walking, sitting and stair climbing. Ability to obtain safety precautions against blood borne pathogens by using protective gear.
