Job Details:This position involves an expanded patient care role in which the PA is assigned to the Physician Assistant Service of Memorial Hospital. In this capacity the PA will work in a collaborative practice with Orthopedic Surgeons and Emergency Room Physicians at Memorial Hospital.They are responsible for completing history and physical assessment to include dictating summaries, evaluations and diagnosis with the concurrence of the responsible physician;perform therapeutic procedures to include ordering placement, or the actual placement of immobilization devices such as casts, splints or braces, perioperative surgical intervention, follow-up,and first-assist in surgery as needed. They will also be responsible for providing appropriate drug therapy, to include analgesics,antibiotics, anti-inflammatories or other therapy as needed.They will direct and coordinate the care of all Orthopedic patients within their service area and may also be required to make rounds on certain patients.

Minimum Education: Completion of Physician Assistant Program;

Minimum Experience: At least 2 years direct experience; Graduate of a CAHEA approved Physician Assistant program. NCCPA certified, in good standing. Colorado Physician Assistant License. BLS, ACLS.
